Fall Trend- MATTE SKIN

Matte Skin

Matte Skin is in for Fall! As all of you know, Fall Beauty has consisted of a bold, intense lip. What better to accompany a bold lip then with shine free skin that looks sooooo natural that it looks like you aren’t wearing makeup at all.

Here is a complete guide to achieving matte skin as well as the products that will get you there.

1. Use a non-greasy moisturizer. If you have oily skin, try using a gel moisturizer as it is more mattifying.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel- $26 – Gel is always a better formula to use if you are more on the oily side. This particular gel moisturizer is oil-free and is made specifically for combination and oily skin.

2. Use a mattifying primer and apply it evenly on your face.

Benefit POREfessional $30 – Primer is great for making your makeup stay put all day. Especially if you have oily skin, primer will help the longevity of your makeup. Benefit’s POREfessional not only makes your skin a smooth surface to apply flawless makeup, but it is also oil free and contains Vitamin E that will help protect your skin.

3. Choose an oil free foundation

MAKE UP FOR EVER Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation $36 – You can chose your favorite oil-free foundation, but this is one of my favs! This foundation is oil free, water resistant, controls shine and provides full coverage. This is a liquid foundation, but provides a powder finish. This foundation really helps you have a flawless face all day.

4. Use a beauty blender, foundation brush or stippling brush. Make sure to nicely blend the foundation in order to achieve a streak-free, flawless finish.

Beauty Blender $20 – The beauty blender is perfect for applying streak free foundation. With the beauty blender you can easily achieve light coverage foundation all the way to full coverage. The beauty blender lives up to its name and blends perfectly. It really is the key to achieving a flawless face.

5. Apply concealer in any areas where there are imperfections or redness.

M.A.C. Studio Finish Concealer

MAC Cosmetics Studio Finish SPF 30 Concealer $18 – This is my favorite concealer for imperfections and redness, but you can use whatever concealer works best for you.

6. Use a large powder brush to apply translucent powder all over your face to set your makeup and also to eliminate shine.

Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder $35 – One of the key components to a matte face is making sure that your powder well. Powder is the best trick for “quick mattification” (btw, I just made up that word), but yes it is true. Powder soaks up any moisture that is left on your skin and will also help to make sure that your makeup stays put and lasts longer. My favorite setting powder is from Laura Mercier. Always use a translucent powder to set as it is best for creating a more natural look. This powder is an oil free, non-comedogenic product that never creates caking or creasing.

I hope this helps you in achieving Matte Skin that is perfect for Fall. I would love to hear what your favorite products for achieving matte skin.
