Honey. You love it in drinks, you love it in desserts and now you’re going to love it for so many other reasons! I have been really into skincare lately and I have heard so much of the wonders that Honey can do for your skin so I decided to do some research. I was really surprised of all uses that honey can do for your skin, hair and nails. Sooo…I decided to do a rundown of the awesomeness of HONEY!
Acne – Honey has natural antibacterial properties and is great for acne treatment and prevention. It is also a great ingredient to use as a cleanser since it helps to open up your pores and absorb any impurities.
Sun Protection – Honey helps to protect the skin from the sun. It helps rejuvenate depleted skin. Honey also helps with treating sunburn as it has very soothing qualities.
Scars – Honey can help naturally fade scars and it also speeds up the healing process of any wounds, acne or infections.
Moisturizer – Honey is the perfect ingredient for any DIY scrub or mask. It has soothing, hydrating properties and helps your skin retain moisture and elasticity.
Sensitive Skin – Honey is also great for people who have very sensitive skin. It is an anti-inflammatory and an anti-irritant and helps those who have eczema, psoriasis and rosacea. It is also gentle enough to use on babies and is found in many baby products.
Anti-Aging – Honey is also rich in antioxidants and is the perfect natural anti-aging product. It also helps to give your complexion a boost and provide you with a natural glow.
-Hair Conditioner – Honey is great for your hair. It improves the health of your hair follicles and scalp. It also reduces the risk of developing dandruff. Honey is also great for DIY hair masks as it can rejuvenate dull hair and help your hair retain moisture.
Hair Lightener – Honey can naturally help you lighten your hair. It is perfect to use if you like “lighter” hair in the summer time.
Nail Conditioner – Honey also helps strengthen your nails and soften cuticles. If you bite or pick your nails, honey also helps to treat any open sores that you may have.
Who would have known all the special things that Honey can do! One side note is that it is best to use raw, unheated honey when doing any beauty treatments as you will get the best results.
Have any of you tried a Honey DIY mask or scrub?!
