Have you heard of Poshmark?

poshmarkIn an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the chief designer of California Closets, Ginny Snook Scott says that “Only about 20% of clothes in the average person’s closet are worn on a regular basis”.

With that said, have you heard of Poshmark?!

Poshmark is a great place to sell your old or new things such as clothing, shoes, jewelry, makeup, purses and etc. It is also a great place to find new things to replenish your closet with.

I discovered Poshmark from my sister and started my own closet in July 2012. At first, I would just browse around and look at other people’s closets. I remember my first purchase was these Jessica Simpson over the knee boots that I have been searching for everywhere, but were sold out in my size. I ended up finding them on Posh for $35! Score, right?! After my success with shopping closets on Poshmark, I started to post a few of my things to sell. Who would have known how many things I have in my closet that I don’t wear and even more surprisingly, how many things I have in my closet that still have the tags on it!

Poshmark is a great way to clear out your closet. You can post items in your closet and give it a description and an asking price. People can “like” your item and ask questions prior to purchasing. Once someone has purchased your item, Poshmark will send you a prepaid label for up to 5 lbs and all you need to do is mail it out and mark the item as shipped in your Poshmark profile. Once the package is received by the buyer, Poshmark will keep 20% of the sale price and give you the rest. You can either keep it in their “bank” that you can use to make purchases or you can have it transferred to your own bank account.

I would recommend all the ladies out there to give this a try. Sell some of the stuff in your closet that you know you will never wear and let it be someone else’s treasure. Better yet, make room for some awesome new stuff.

Download the Poshmark app and sign up with this code HRSXY and you will receive a $5 credit.
