REVIEW – STILA Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

stila

Today I am reviewing the STILA Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner. I have to admit that since I was 16 years old I have only used gel eye liner. About a year and a half ago I started venturing into the  eye liner world and have literally tried out a ton. Good eye liner is hard to come by. I want something that is easy to apply, lasts all day, doesn’t smudge and doesn’t dry out. I was recommended this product by a friend of mine, Valerie and I seriously owe her my life.

This has been my “go-to” eye liner for quite some time now. I bought this eye liner back in September and here we are in February. Five months later, this eye liner still hasn’t dried out and still has life in it. How awesome is that?

photo 1

This eye liner retails for $20 and can be bought anywhere STILA products are sold. I bought mine at Sephora. It comes in 15 different colors –

Black – jet black

Dark Brown – chocolate brown

Alloy – rich steel charcoal

Snow – white

Midnight – deep blue

Indigo – deep peacock blue

Cobalt – deep teal blue

Periwinkle – periwinkle blue

Turquoise – light turquoise

Teal – greenish blue

Moss – forest green

Emerald – emerald green

Olive – dark army green

Amber – burnt deep orange

Paradise Pink – deep pink

This eye liner is waterproof and promises to go on smoothly without skipping, smudging, or pulling and it lasts all day. They also promise that this eye liner is perfect for beginners or professional makeup artists. I couldn’t agree more. You can use this eye liner to make a really thin line or you can definitely build it up for a more dramatic look. Not to mention, this eye liner is perfect for creating a cat eye. This eye liner is a definite must-have!

Have you tried out this eye liner?! What did you think of it?

Paint the town RED!

Paint the town RED

I couldn’t give homage to the color pink without including its big sister, RED. Although Valentine’s Day is already over, Red is the perfect color to rock on any day and through all seasons. While pink is fun and flirty, Red is a very sensual, romantic color. It is elegant and grand, sexy and passionate and the universal color for LOVE!

Now doing beauty picks for everything RED was a bit of a challenge. There are a ton of red lip products and nail polishes, but there aren’t many other red beauty products since it is not a traditional color to use on the eyes, etc. With that said there are soooo many red lippies and polishes that it was pretty hard to narrow them down to a select few. I did my very best to give you a variety of RED beauty picks that are definite must-haves!

photo 1

MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Russian Red $16 – This is one of MAC’s top selling products. It has became so popular that MAC has even extended Russian Red into a Lipglass and Nail Lacquer. This is the perfect red for all skin types. It is a deep, rich red with cool undertones. This is a matte lipstick that is easy to apply and is long-lasting. If you like more of a shiny look then you can pair this with a clear gloss to get the achieved look. It is also the perfect red to wear both during the day and at night.

photo 3

Lime Crime Velvetines in Red Velvet $20 – You know I had to include this on the list! Velvetines are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and just so happen that Red Velvet is my favorite one. This product comes in traditional lip gloss packaging and is even applied just like a lip gloss. But once you try this out you will be pleasantly surprised by how different it is. This product is described as being a lip stain. But I think it is more of a lip stain/lipstick. It applies liquid but dries matte. It is the perfect red that is great on all skin tones. It last all day and is waterproof. It doesn’t get any better than that.

photo 2 copy

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar – Stained Glass in Meta $18 – OCC! I love this brand. I first fell in love with their Lip Tars, but I have to admit that I fell in love all over again with their Lip Tar – Stained Glosses. This is a highly pigmented lip gloss that is similar to the traditional Lip Tar, but has a glossy finish. It can be worn over any Lip Tars to get a color-transformation or to just add more of a shine. It can also be worn alone to just get nice pigment of red on the lips with some shine. This particular color Meta is a red-orange color. This is a very bold color and is perfect for a fun look, since it is a red that tint of orange. I love wearing this one during the day.

photo 1 copy

Sugarpill Pressed Eye Shadow is @#$%! $12 – Red eye shadow is definitely made for risk takers. But many people would be surprised to know that red is actually very wearable and flattering as long as you apply it the correct way. A key to applying red shadow is to blend, blend, blend. It is also important that you keep an eye out to where you apply the shadow. I tend to stay away from applying red eye shadow to my lower lash line as it can make you appear like you have dark under eye circles or that you’re tired. This particular eye shadow is described as being a bold warm-toned red with a silver metallic sheen. It is great for a date night, special occasion or holiday.

photo 3 copy

NARS Blush in Exhibit A $30 – This blush screams RED! This blush is breath-taking. It is a big punch of color. This product is just as pigmented as it looks in the pan. If you apply it wrong, it can be very overwhelming, but the key again is to be mindful of the amount you put on and the tools that you use. When using this product it is best to have a light-hand and apply small amounts first and you can build it up if needed. I like to use a fan brush when applying this brush. It is perfect for giving an even, light application. This color is also great for all skin tones. It is a matte red, so no sparkle. It is great for achieving the perfect flush.

photo 2

Dior ‘Vernis’ Nail Enamel in Red Royalty 999 $24 – You really only need one coat with this nail polish. It is that pigmented and the formula and brush is just that great. It is a creme red color that applies perfect and evenly. You seriously need one coat and you are out the door. This is a pricey nail polish, but it is worth it if you need a really good staple red nail polish in your collection. This nail polish has a chip-resistant formula that will keep your nails looking great and newly painted. It also has Shine and Sparkle activating ingredients that make this nail polish shine and glisten.

What is your favorite RED beauty product?!

All things PINK for Valentine’s Day!

PinkWith Valentine’s Day right around the corner I decided to give homage to the wonderful color PINK! Pink is the quintessential color for the “girly girl.” Pink encompasses everything romantic, soft, gentle, sweet, lovable and of course fun. There are so many different shades of pink and different ways you can rock it. I am not a big fan of wearing pink clothes, but I love to accessorize with it and most definitely enjoy wearing it on my face:)

With that said here are beauty options for rocking the color pink on the most romantic holiday – Valentine’s Day!!

photo 3

ILLAMASQUA Lipstick in Plunge – This lipstick is described as a bright bubblegum pink. I cannot agree more. This is the perfect “Barbie” pink. It will really help channel your inner Barbie. This lipstick is great because it is a matte finish. If you like a more glossy or shiny lip I would recommend you use a clear gloss over it to achieve your desired look. If you haven’t tried Illamasqua’s lipsticks before, you are in for a real treat. These lipsticks have great pigment, are long-lasting and they feel so luxurious.

swish

MAC Swish Eye Shadow $15 – This is one of my all time favorite MAC eye shadow colors. This is a frost and is described as being a bright pink with icy shimmer. You may be intimidated by this color at first glance, but rest assured that this color is very wearable and you can use it for both a day or night look. This eye shadow is also great for all skin tones. I like to wear this eye shadow all over my lid and then use a very soft brown color in my crease just to add definition and a pretty matte highlight color under my brow. To get a more intense color you can add a base and really build the color up. You can also smoke out this look by adding a darker color in the outer v. Or you can be very subtle with this color and use it in your inner tear duck for a pop of color. This color is so versatile. I love it!

photo 5

Burberry Light Glow – Coral Pink No. 09 $42 – This is luxury wrapped in a little package. Yes, I know this is pricey, but ahhhhh it is so amazing! First off, the packaging is uber cute. It has the traditional Burberry etchings on the outside and when you open the package the blush itself has that same etching. This color is more of a darker pink color with a hint of coral. It is especially great for those with darker skin tones. This is a lightweight blush that has a satin finish so it is great for creating a nice flushed look.

photo 4

Butter London Fruit Machine Nail Lacquer $15 – I love all Butter London nail polishes. They are easy to apply and have great pigmentation. Two coats are you are out the door. I also like the untraditional shape of their bottles. It really makes them stand out against other nail polishes. This color is a pale light bubblegum pink. It is a really girly color. It looks best with those who have fair skin tones. This color is also great for nail art.

photo 2

NARS Turkish Delight $25 – This lip gloss is very widely known as Kim Kardashian’s go to lip. This lip gloss is described as being a pink sorbet. It is perfect for achieving a nude pale pink lip. It is a very versatile color. You can wear it on top of a nude lip stick to give you a nice pink tint or you can wear this over a pink lipstick to give it more flavor. NARS lip glosses are great because they are long-lasting, hydrating and they aren’t sticky! We all know we hate sticky glosses. This lip gloss is perfect for all skin tones and would compliment any outfit.

photo 1

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Woodstock $20 – 24/7 Eye Pencils are one of Urban Decay’s most loved, and most popular product. These eye pencils are really creamy, have great pigmentation and last all day. The formula is very to easy to blend and is also great for smudging. Woodstock is a fuchsia pink color with and silver sparkle. You can layer this product to achieve a real intense color. You can use this as a base to really intensify the eye shadow that you are applying. This is also great to apply on your lower lash line to add some fun to any eye look. If you are really daring this is also great to use as an eyeliner with some black mascara. A very simple, but unforgettable look.

I hope you enjoyed my homage to the color PINK. Be sure to take part in the Valentine’s Day spirit and add a little pink to your makeup look!

Lip Balm on a Budget!

Lip Balm on a Budget

I have another “…on a Budget!” post for you! Today I will be going over my favorite Lip Balms! All of these lip balms are under $10 and most can be found at your local drugstore. Lip balm is a must have! I don’t go anywhere without it. I actually keep a few different lip balms in my purse at all times just in case. There is nothing worst than dry, cracked lips. Not only does it look bad, but dang it hurts:(

photo 3

EOS Organic Lip Balm Sphere $3 – I absolutely love this lip balm. I have them in a few different colors and I always keep one of these in my purse, one at my desk at work and one in my gym bag. These are great because they are super moisturizing and they don’t leave a yucky film on your lips after applying it. I also like the shape of the lip balm. It makes it so much easier to find your lip balm when it’s at the bottom of your purse. This lip balm has shea butter and vitamin E and is paraben, petrolatum and phthalate free. Best thing about this is that it is only $3.

photo 5

Maybelline Baby Lips $3.50 – This stuff is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I have so many of these and I really can’t get enough. These lip balms are very moisturizing and help keep my lips hydrated. What is even better about this product is that it also gives you a great tint of color. Sometimes I’m not in the mood to wear lipsticks or lip glosses, but this is the best alternative. It gives your lips a great pick me up. They have so many different shades available to fit whichever mood or outfit you are in. Maybelline went even further with this line and introduced the Electro and Dr. Rescue lines of Baby Lips. All are must-haves!

photo 1

Smith’s Rosebud Salve $6 – This is an all-purpose lip balm. Not only can you use this for chapped lips, but you can also use it for dry skin and minor burns. I love this stuff. It works great and smells wonderful. You can purchase this at Sephora or online, but it is only $6 so I had to include it on my “…on the budget” list. This product is also vegan friendly and is cruelty-free.

photo 4

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm $3 – Burt’s Bees has a lot of great lip balms, but this one is by far their most popular. It immediately hydrates your lips while also leaves a refreshing tingle. This lip balm is perfect for both men and women as it has no smell and the packaging is very unisex. It is also great since it is in the traditional lip balm tube so it is perfect to carry around in your pocket or a small purse.

photo 2

Nivea Lip Butter $3 – I have always loved all Nivea’s products. I was so happy when they came out with these lip butters. These butters come in compact tins and have four different variaties – Smooth Kiss, Raspberry Rose Kiss, Caramel Cream Kiss and Vanilla & Macadamia Kiss. This product has Shea Butter and Almond Oil which is perfect for long-lasting hydration.

I love all of these lip balms and the greatest thing about it is that all of these are under $10. Each are a bit different, but they are work great. I would recommend you try all of these! You can never have enough lip balm.

REVIEW – AVON Super Drama Mascara

photo 1 copy

I’m very excited that to share this mascara review with you today. I have to admit that I have been doing lots of shopping lately and have tons of reviews in store for you. I love trying out mascaras. I always see commercials and ads on the latest mascaras that are out and I always get excited to try it out. There are so many different brands of mascaras out there and each has different wands, formulas, etc. It really is exciting when you find ones that are amazing!

I really love the AVON SuperSHOCK Max Mascara so I decided to try out one of their newer ones – Super Drama Mascara. This one retails for $8, but AVON always has sales depending on the catalog that is out, so you can definitely purchase it while it is on sale. This mascara promises to add “drama” to your eyelashes. It is supposed to add both volume and length without clumping. It is also smudge and flake resistant.

photo 2

I was pretty disappointed with this mascara. The packaging is really cute, but I did not like the brush or the formula at all. The brush is really flimsy and does not coat your lashes very well at all. You really have to work it into your lashes to get an even coat. This mascara did lengthen my lashes, but it did not add very much volume. It definitely did not add promised instant “drama”. I don’t think that I will be re-purchasing this one, but I will definitely try out other AVON mascaras. Maybe this one just wasn’t for me:/

Have you tried this mascara out? I would love to hear what you thought of it.

December Favorites!

December FavoritesOMG my last favorites post was in October! This holiday season was so jam-packed and crazy busy that I completely skipped over my November Favorites:( But, I am sooooo excited to share with you my December favorites. I swear I have been using these products all month and have been loving them…!

photo 3

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm $3.50 – I fell in love with Baby Lips when they first came out, but this month I discovered the new Electro colors and I am in love all over again. This collection carries 6 different shades – Pink Shock, Fierce N Tangy, Berry Bomb, Oh! Orange!, Minty Sheer and Strike a Rose. Berry Bomb has to be my favorite by far. These are perfect because not only are these lip balms moisturizing and help keep my dry winter lips hydrated, but they also leave just the right amount of color on my lips to give me that little extra pizzazz!

photo 1 copy

Urban Decay Naked 3 $52 – I just got this palette for Christmas, but am sooooo in love with it that it already make it to my December favorites list. This Naked3 palette is awesome. It comes with 12 never seen before shades. This palette has matte, shimmery and metallic colors. There are so many different looks that you can make with this. This palette has been my go to for both day and night looks. Unlike the Naked 1 and 2, this one has more rose neutral colors. If you haven’t picked this one up yet, you definitely need to. It is soooo worth the money.

photo 2

Gold Bond Ultimate Intensive Healing Hand Cream $4 – I know I complain about this all the time, but I swear to you…cold weather really dries my hands up soooo much. So much that it hurts. I was telling my grandma about this and she recommended I try out this hand cream. Grandmas are always right! This cream is amazing. It is a very moisturizing hand cream, but it isn’t greasy at all. This hand cream even promises to last through hand washing. This product really soaks into your skin and makes your hands feel instantly soft. I also love the hand cream size because it is perfect for carrying in your purse.

photo 2 copy

RiRi loves MAC Lipstick in RiRi Woo $16.50 – RiRi Woo is the perfect red! I have been loving this color all month long! It is so perfect for the holidays or special occasions. It really tops off any makeup look. This shade of red is perfect for all skin tones. It is also a matte lipstick which is great. You can wear a clear gloss with it if you prefer some shine. Another plus to this lipstick is that the packaging is adorable. What better than a gold tube with some amazing lipstick inside?!

photo 3 copy

MAC Cosmetics Carbon Eye Shadow $15 – Yay, two MAC products this month. I always have black eye shadow in my makeup bag. I use black eye shadow to go over my eyeliner to reinforce and ensure that my eyeliner stays put all day long. There are a lot of black eye shadows, but I really love Carbon by MAC. Carbon is perfect because it is a matte shade and doesn’t carry any sparkles, etc. This eye shadow is super black and really helps to make my eyeliner look really defined. You can honestly never go wrong with MAC’s eye shadows.

photo 1

OPI Nail Lacquer in Bastille My Heart $9 – Red nail polish is a must-have for the Holiday season. It honestly works will all outfits and especially when you put that RiRi Woo on your lips:) This particular red is my favorite since it is such a deep, intense red. I like that is has a really nice finish, but has no shimmer. And as always, OPI nail polishes are so easy to apply.

What are your favorite products for December?!

Mascara on a Budget!

Mascara on a BudgetYikes! I can’t believe that it is already 2014! I have been soooooo busy with work and the holidays hence the lack of blog post, but I promise that I have a lot more in store for you this year and am devoted to blogging more regularly.

With that said…I am very excited to do my 3rd “…on a Budget!” post. Today I am going over my favorite drugstore Mascaras! I love, love, love Mascara! I have both high-end and drug store mascaras in my makeup collection, but I swear to you some of these drug store mascaras are real big contenders to high-end ones. I honestly prefer some of my drug store mascaras to the other pricier ones that I have.

So without further ado…

L’oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara $8 – L’oreal has a lot of great mascaras, but this one is by far my favorite. It has a clump-free formula that separates and lengthens your lashes. I love it because it is great for both an everyday look and also for a night look. Just one coat of this mascara and you are good for a work/school day and if you add a few more coats it is perfect for a night out. It also lasts all day and does not smudge or flake off like other mascaras.

photo 4

Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara $7 – This is an oldie, but a goodie. This mascara never fails and has a permanent spot in my makeup collection. I discovered this mascara around 7 years ago from a YouTuber that I follow. She would constantly rave about this mascara. I finally bought it and understood the hype. This mascara has a great, big wand and it really does coat all of your lashes. It is perfect for adding lots of volume and making your lashes look really full. This is a definite must-have!

photo 1 copy

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara $5 – This is known as America’s favorite mascara. This mascara has been around for forever! That is a true testament to why it deserves to be on this list. Anyone can spot their unique colored packaging from far away and know exactly what product this is. This mascara thickens without clumps and is so easy to apply. Best things is that it is only $5.

photo 2 copy

AVON SuperSHOCK Max Mascara $8 – I absolutely LOVE this mascara! This mascara really lives up to its name. It does provide “Super Shocking” volume. It promises up to 7x the volume which is amazing. The formula is super black, which I love. The brush on this mascara is huge and can really coat all of your lashes. One coat and you are good to go for a night out. It really lengthens and makes your lash line super full! Love it!

photo 3 copy

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Mascara $6 – This mascara promises to give 300% more visible lashes corner-to-corner. The formula of this mascara builds lots of volume without clumping. The thing I like most about this mascara is the wand. Sometimes my eyelashes are crazy and it is hard to get an even coat. The wand on this mascara is super flexible and it makes it a lot easier to make sure that all of my lashes get attention.

photo 2

Physicians Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara $9 – This mascara is great especially if you have sensitive eyes or wear contacts. It is hypoallergenic and is free of parabens and synthetic preservatives. Another plus to this mascara is that the packaging is super cute and is 100% recyclable. This mascara promises to naturally give 5x the lash length and volume.

photo 4 copy

Covergirl LashBlast Clump Crusher Mascara $7 – Clumps are a big no no! There is nothing worse than clumpy looking eyelashes. Eyelashes are supposed to be long, full and clump free! This mascara definitely does all of that. It has a revolutionary double-sided curved brush that is supposed to add lots of volume without the clumps!

photo 1

L’oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara $8 – This mascara is awesome. Everything is great about it! The formula is clump-free, flake-free and smudge-free and is even great for those who have sensitive eyes or wear contacts. This mascara really gives your great length. It separates your lashes and makes them look super long. It really lives up to its name “shocking extensions mascara.”

What is your favorite drug store mascara?

Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil in Binge

photo

I love Urban Decay and was ecstatic when I stopped by my local Nordstrom Rack and spotted this baby. Nordstrom Rack has really been stepping it up in the beauty department and they really have some great makeup finds.

They had a few Urban Decay products, but this eye pencil in Binge really caught my eye. The color is beautiful. I think this color would be great for a pop of color to any eye look. Its great to use as base on your lid to really make your eyeshadow stand out. It would also be great to use on your lower lash line. The color Binge is a navy blue color, but it has a very pretty sheen to it. It almost reminds me of a metallic. This eye pencil is super creamy and so easy to blend. The best thing about this product is that it was only $3.97! It normally retails for $19. Binge is one of Urban Decay’s discontinued colors so don’t forget to stop at your local Nordstrom Rack to pick yours up today.

Here are other Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencils that are available at Sephora.

Have you tried any of the other Urban Decay eye pencils? Which color is your favorite?

2014 Pantone Color of Year – Radiant Orchid!

Pantone recently announced that Radiant Orchid is the Color of the Year for 2014. Radiant Orchid can be described as a harmonious mixture of purple and pink. It is a very vibrant, but subtle color.

I am so excited that Pantone chose Radiant Orchid this year. I haven’t been very thrilled with the colors of past years – Emerald (2013) and Tangerine Tango (2012). But this year’s color can really do wonders. It is the perfect color if you just want to add more excitement to your outfit. I can be worn by both men and women. It is a feminine color, but it isn’t super feminine that men wouldn’t be able to wear it as well. It is also great for design and home decor.

In my opinion, the best way to integrate this color into your life is through makeup! Here are some of my favorite beauty products that will help you become “Radiant Orchid”!

Pantone 2014 Color of the Year

OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender $9 – This color is beautiful. It is great for a skin tones. This would also be a great color if you like colored tips.

Makeup Forever Fuchsia Matte Eye Shadow $20 – This color really screams Radiant Orchid. This color is very, very pigmented and is great if you want to go all out and create a nice bold eye. You can either wear this on your lid with a nice transitional crease color and brow highlight for a great day look or you can use this color and smoke it out with a dark purple. grey or black for a great night look.

MAC Cosmetics Asian Flower Sheen Supreme Lipstick $17 – This color is soooo pretty and will fit so many different skin tones. Why not show the color of the year on your lips!

NARS Mata Hari Blush $29 – All of NARS’ blushes are to die for. This one is no exception. This blush will bring the perfect flush to your face.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Asphyxia $19 – Urban Decay’s 24/7 eyeliners are one of their best sellers. This one has metallic silver shimmer. It is soooo pretty and glides on so smoothly. I love to use this product on my lower lash line to add a nice pop of color to any everyday look.

I would love to hear what you think of 2014’s Pantone Color of the Year!
