Yay! It’s favorites time! Let me start by saying that September is my most favorite month since it is my birthday month! Double Yay for Virgos. September has been amazing…I had so much fun this month with my friends and family.
Okay, enough rambling…here are my most loved products of September-
MAC Diva Lipstick $15 – I have been loving this color! This is a matte lipstick and is described as an intense reddish-burgundy. I think it is more of a rich plum color. This is a great color for Fall and is great on all skin tones.
MAC Vino Lip Pencil $15 – This is the perfect lip liner to go with the Diva lipstick. It is described as being an intense violet-purple. It is also a great lip liner to just fill your lips in with and then put a gloss over or if you wanted to create an Ombre lip this would be a perfect liner to do so. This lip color also screams Fall!
EOS Lip Balm $3 – Dry lips are a big no-no! With seasons changing, it is very important to always keep your lips hydrated. This lip balm has been my go to for quite some time now. They come in a lot of different flavors – Blueberry Acai, Strawberry Sorbet, Pomegranate Raspberry, Summer Fruit, Sweet Mint, Honeysuckle Honeydew, Medicated Tangerine and Lemon Drop. They last a long time and don’t leave any residue. Best thing about it is that it is only $3.
True Blue Spa Shea Cashmere Hand Cream $12.50 – True Blue Spa by Bath and Body Works is amazing. My hands get super dry when the weather changes and this hand cream pretty much saves my life. This hand cream is small enough to keep in my purse and I find myself using it all day. It makes my hands super soft and the best thing about it is that it smells amazing.
NARS Eyeliner Stylo $27 – I recently got into felt tip liners and this is by far my favorite one. It is on the pricier side, but it is soooo worth it. It comes in four colors – Carpates (Black), Nuka Hiva (Brown), Atlantic (Navy) and Koala (Grey). I got the black one and I love the fact that it is super black. The eyeliner is easy to apply and gives a precise line. I have had mine for a while now and it has yet to dry out. This is a definite must-have if you like felt-tip eyeliners.
L’Oreal True Match Crayon Concealer $8 – The great thing about this product is that it comes in a ton of different shades. I have a few different shades and I use one of them to conceal my blemishes, another one to highlight and another one to contour. The product is so creamy that it makes it super easy to blend out.
Let me know what your favorites are and if you have tried any of these products.

I recently purchased this beauty from Hautelook when they were having a Tarte flash sale. I am very happy to say that I am soooooo in LOVE with this palette.
If you are not very familiar with Tarte – they are an amazing brand. All of their products are high quality and worth the money. They are cruelty free, vegan friendly and DO NOT contain any parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate and gluten. Makeup that is great for your skin, can it get any better?
This palette was sold last year to celebrate 10 years of cruelty free beauty. It was a Sephora exclusive. This palette retails for $44, but has a value of $120. Amazing, right? The packaging is super cute. It is a gold studded purple palette that is refillable and reusable. It comes with 10 full-size eye shadows, a double-ended eyeliner, a full size eye shadow brush and a deluxe sample of Lights, Camera Lashes.
Here is a brief description of the eyeshadows –
Top (left to right) – matte soft pink, shimmering silver gray, shimmering gold, shimmering copper, shimmering amethyst.
Bottom (left to right) – shimmering plum, matte black, shimmering chocolate, shimmering green, shimmering teal.
Here are some swatches that I took of the shadows and eyeliner-
I think this palette is great for so many different looks. It is mostly shimmer, but it is great for Holidays, special occasions and going out. The colors are very rich and pigmented. It is also great for that perfect smoky eye. This is a great palette to add to your makeup collection and I highly recommend picking it up if you can still find it. Keep your eye out for it on Hautelook, they may have it on the next Tarte sale. If you do already own this palette, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Expired Makeup?! Yes, makeup does expire and using expired makeup is a big no-no. I know many of us makeup lovers/hoarders have tons of different mascaras, lipsticks, foundations, etc in our makeup collection that we keep just for those days when you want a specific look. But it is very important that you know the expiration dates of your makeup and signs of when it’s time to toss em’ away. Using expired makeup can cause breakouts, skin irritation, rashes and even infections.
Here is a quick guide that will help you in the quest for a fresh makeup collection-
*Quick note- Expiration timeframe starts from the time when the product is opened.
- Foundation – Expires in 1 year

- Cream Shadows – Expires in 12-18 months
- Warning signs to look out for – The cream shadow is really dry and hard to work with.

- Lotion – Expires in 2 years
- Warning signs to look out for – The color or scent of the lotion has changed.
- Tips – Always keep in a cool place away from sunlight exposure. Also, a lotion with a pump dispenser is better than a jar of lotion as it is more sanitary and less prone to germs.

- Warning signs to look out for – The lipstick is really dry or has a funny odor to it.
- Tips – Don’t share your lipsticks!
- Lip Gloss – Expires in 1 year

Here is my second “…on a Budget!” post. Today I will be listing my favorite drugstore blushes. These blushes are very comparable to high-end blushes and in my opinion in some cases they are better.
Each of these products can be found at your local Wal-Mart, Target, CVS and Ulta (drugstore section).
So let’s begin…
Milani Baked Blush $7 – These blushes are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! They come in 7 different shades- Bellissimo Bronze, Berry Amore, Corallina, Dolce Pink, Fantastico Mauve, Luminoso, Red Vino and Rose D’oro. These blushes are highly pigmented and give a radiant glow. They have great staying power as well. All of these shades are great, but my favorite has to be Luminoso. It is a definite must-have!
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush $7 – This blush comes in 10 shades- Fresh Pink 05, Pink Frosting 10, Rose Petal 15, Peach Satin 20, Candy Coral 30, Pink Plum 40, Orchid Hush 45, Plum Wine 50, Coffee Cake 60 and Hot Tamale 70. This is a great blush, it has a very unique texture- it is a powder gel formula. This blush is great for a very natural flushed look. It provides a very sheer color, but is definitely buildable to achieve the perfect color.
e.l.f Studio HD Blush $3 – I love this blush. This blush was also on my list for my most loved e.l.f products which you can read more here. This blush comes in 5 shades- Headliner, Superstar, Diva, Encore and Showstopper. This blush is very pigmented and lasts all day long. It is very creamy and gives a gives a very flushed look. Best thing about it is it is only $3. Such a steal!
Nyx Powder Blush $6 – This blush comes is 12 shades – Mocha, Peach, Terra Cotta, Pinched, Dusty Rose, Cinnamon, Desert Rose, Rose Garden, Summer Peach, Bourgeois Pig, Amber and Mauve. I love the way this product feels- the powder is super silky and goes on so smooth. It has great pigmentation and stays on all day. The best thing about this blush is that it comes in so many different shades- everything from a deep red, light pink to a peach color.
L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Blush $9 – This blush is really one of a kind. This is a natural blush that is formulated to complement your skin tone and undertone perfectly. With this product, you really get the most natural flush of color. This blush is also great because it also helps to hide blemishes and imperfections. This blush comes in 12 shades- Apricot Kiss, Baby Blossom, Bare Honey, Barely Blushing, Innocent Flush, Precious Peach, Rosy Outlook, Soft Sun, Spiced Plum, Subtle Sable, Sweet Ginger and Tender Rose.
Have you tried any of these blushes? I would love to hear your thoughts on these!

Yay! It’s review time! Today I am reviewing Revlon’s newest mascara- Grow Luscious Lash Potion. This mascara comes in 3 colors – Blackest Black, Black and Blackened Brown. This mascara is currently on sale at Target for $4.99.
This mascara promises to volume and lengthen your lashes. The formula contains proteins, amino acids and vitamins to help achieve great volumizing lashes. This mascara also has a triple-groove wand that is meant to provide clump free length.
My favorite thing about this mascara is the packaging. It is sooooo cute. I love the color and the way the tube is shaped. The mascara is so-so for me. Usually I like mascaras that are both lengthening and volumizing. The mascara is definitely lengthening, but I don’t think it is very volumizing. I can agree that the formula does not clump a lot which is great.
I recommend this product if you are looking for a mascara that gives amazing length. If you like a mascara that gives you more volume than I would definitely pass on this one.
Has anyone else tried this mascara? I would love to hear your thoughts on it!

Better late than never right?!
Here are my most loved products for the month of August. I live by these products and majority of them I cannot go a day without using them.
Mac Cleanse Off Oil $30 – Oh how I love this product! I use this product every night to take off my makeup. I usually wear both waterproof eyeliner and mascara so it is sometimes very hard to take off my makeup without doing a serious scrub down on my face. I just use 1-2 pumps of cleanse off oil and rub it around my face including my eye area and right away you can see all the products start to break down. I then wash off my face with warm water and then use my normal face wash to cleanse everything off. This cleanse off oil is perfect for removing your makeup without being abrasive. I hate tugging on my eye area, but sometimes you can just never get rid of all the eyeliner and mascara. This product definitely does the trick and I highly recommend it.
Wet N Wild Eye Shadow $3 – Wet N Wild eye shadows are AMAZING! I was pretty skeptical of these at first since they are drugstore and only $3, but boy was I wrong. These Wet N Wild eye shadows are sooooo pigmented and they really do last all day. Eyelid, Crease and Brow is embedded in each eye shadow in the palette so you can really achieve and easy, great look with each palette. My favorite palette of the moment is ‘Sweet As Candy’. This particular palette is great because it is very wearable for during the day, but you can also make it a night look or a party look by just adding a little more of the darker color to the crease. If you don’t have any Wet N Wild palettes then you really need to get them now. They are so worth the $3.
Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream + SPF 50 $35 – Good sunscreen is a must-have. You must always use sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun- this will help you have healthy, great skin and it will also help you age gracefully. This Shiseido sunscreen is my favorite to use on my face. It has SPF 50 which is great for protection your skin. It is water and perspiration resistance and also leaves a transparent finish.
TRESemme Heat Tamer Spray $4 – This spray is perfect for protecting you hair from heat. I spray this product all over my hair before I blow dry. I also use this every time I use my flat iron. When I straighten my hair I divide my hair in sections, spray the heat tamer evenly on my hair and flat iron my hair by section. I love this product because it works great and is so great in price.
Covergirl Flamed Out Mascara $6 – I love this mascara. I discovered it early last month and found myself using it daily. It is the perfect mascara to lengthen and thicken your lashes. It lasts all day and doesn’t clump. Best of all is that it is only $6! I did a full review on this mascara that you can read here.
TheBalm FratBoy Shadow/Blush $21 – This is seriously the best everyday blush. I got this blush on sale on Hautelook when TheBalm was having a flash sale and really find myself going to this blush all the time. It is perfect achieving a natural flushed look. It lasts all day and a little product goes a long way. I have had this product for a while now and have yet to hit pan.
Rosebud Perfume Co. Rosebud Salve $6 – This multi-purpose salve is great on lips and skin. It can also be used on minor burns and diaper rashes. I get really dry skin in the winter and the fall and always get chapped lips. This salve is perfect for keeping my skin hydrated. I always use this product to moisturize my lips before applying any lipstick. Best thing about this product is the smell- it is such a beautiful rose smell that isn’t overpowering whatsoever. It smells divine.
Let me know what your August favorites are and if you have tried any of these products.

Yes, who would have thought that Dewy Blush would be a hot for fall? But yes, it is! It has been seen all over the fall runways. DKNY, Carolina Herrera, Prabal Gurung and Ralph Lauren are a few of the designers that used this trend in their runway.
Using a dewy blush will give you a natural flushed cheek. It is great for achieving beautiful, glowing skin.
Below are a few of my favorite blushes that will help you achieve this look-

NYX Cosmetics Stick Blush $6 – This is a great cheaper option for the achieving a dewy look. NYX is a great brand and the quality of their makeup is fantastic. I am a big fan of the stick blush. I even like to apply it straight from the tube and use my fingers to blend it out. This is also a great product to travel with. It comes in 8 shades- Magnolia, Pink Lotus, Hibiscus, Tulip, Tea Rose, Orchid, Water Lily and Pink Poppy.

I am very excited to start a new series on my blog- “… on a Budget!” Every week I will be going through my list of the best budget friendly drugstore items for every facet of makeup. I personally think it is great to have a very versatile mix of cosmetics- both high-end and drug store. Drugstore brands have really stepped their game up in the past few years and offer great products!
Today is “Bronze on a Budget!” I will be going through my top 8 bronzers that you can find at your local Wal-Mart, Target or CVS. Each product will have the link where you can purchase each of these products.
So lets start bronzing!
1. Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer $9 – This bronzer comes in four shades – Heatwave, Hula Hula, Tiki and Tropic. This product is known to give an amazing glow. Depending on your skin color you can also use this product as a highlight. Warning is that this product does have shimmer so if you aren’t into that you may want to pass on this one.
2. e.l.f Studio Bronzers $3 – This is a great bronzer that comes in 3 shades- Warm Bronzer, Cool Bronzer and Golden Bronzer. You can purchase this product online at eyeslipsface.com or in any Target location. I usually use the e.l.f. blush and bronzer duo because I like that the blush is included, but this is also a great steal. It has great pigment and it is only $3!
3. Nyx Cosmetics Matte Body Bronzer $8.99 – I L-O-V-E this bronzer. It comes in 5 shades- Light, Deep, Medium, Dark Tan and Deep tan.
